I have had a colony of " Goodea Atripinnis" which I was maintaining for about 2 years now. I was losing one or two fish here and there, but they were breeding readily and the largest female who was the mother of all the other fsih, was looking good. She had dark black fins and a bluish purple hugh to he body. There were a total of about 50 fish at one time, then it was down to 25 fish they started dying one at a time. The other day they all died at once.

After being directed here by the founder of this site Mike, I figured it would be a good idea to stop by and say hello. Right now I am keeping Characodon Audax, Characodon Lateralis, Xenotoca Variata, Skiffia Fransae, and Xenotoca Eiseni, but I am like most of you always looking for new species.
Looking forward to connecting with some of you, Lance

I am looking for a breeder located in Florida that may have sold some Illyodon lennoni, at the TBAS Auction in 2012. There is no problem, I am just trying to locate the breeder or collector so I can verify the location of the fish I received. The fish are doing fine and breeding great, but question has arose as to the validity of the species and its location of collection. I have exhausted all sources of info so please help me in locating this breeder or collector. All information will be kept confidential if that is what you require. Thank You for your help in this matter!

Can the Characodon Audax and the Skiffa listed in the subject interbreed? I'm thinking yes, just have not worked with the Skiffia type before.

Hi friends,
we are going to build up a huge literature database including as many literature as possible. Meanwhile, we have about 1.200 articles, but mostly scientific and from German aquaristic magazines. We are looking urgently for a person, who is "feeding" the GWG with articles from hobby-magazines of your country, details will be sent after we have found a victim (smile). Please help us to reach our goal!
All my best, Mike

Nick Zarlinga at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in the US has contacted me with the following request "I have a hobbyist friend who has a group of about 20 or so Ataenobius towerii for some time. They have been breeding relatively well for him but he would like to get them to a responsible party since he knows that they are endangered. Any suggestions on who he could send these fish to?"Can anyone help out here?

Thanks for accepting me into this great community :). I've been keeping fish for pretty much my entire life in one way or another. While I don't have any goodeids yet I'm open for any :) I have a few 10 gallons and a 30 gallon ready :)

Hello, I just signed up. I've been keeping fish for a couple years. I have a few tanks with cichlids and catfish, but I had been thinking about acquiring wild-type livebearers for a while when I discovered goodeids, their plight and the GWG. Not exactly sure when I'll get my act together and free-up some space for new fish, but I'm looking forward to keeping some goodeids.
