Hello Everyone

Thanks for accepting me into this great community :). I've been keeping fish for pretty much my entire life in one way or another. While I don't have any goodeids yet I'm open for any :) I have a few 10 gallons and a 30 gallon ready :)

Welcome Fuzzy, It can be slow around here for sure but the site is a source of good information.

Hi both

Yes, you're right, world. Sometimes I find it disturbing, that often the last post in each Forum is mine, so sometimes I wait for giving other the chance (Btw: Fuzzypants and me, we mailed before directly, so I knew all these things already).

The reasons for the quietness: We had a Forum before in yahoo, sometimes up to 150 postings a month, but we had NO splitted Forum with regional Fora or topics. Just everybody had been writing everything as a whole running story. Have to confess, I thought of doing it like that again. What do you think about?

Mike

I guess whatever works to make it more populated, I like the seperate forums. It seems most Goodeid sites I go to are very slow as a whole. I just think alot of people that keep them are very private and don't seem to post much. I am pretty new to them myself but luckily I live close to Joel Healy and I can get info and fish from him. There is still a lot for me to learn about these neat little fish however so I wish more would share.

Me too, I also prefer splitted forums; makes it easier to follow the single threads, but on the other hand, spontanity is being lost...

I read a few weeks ago, that people are confused due to different forums (regional and international) on this site; the intention has been originally to lead regional postings ( I am going somewhere, who else? aso) out of the international relevant talks, and I think, this works well. And I don't know how you think about it, but I still clutch to this system:-)

On the other hand  - I recognized it from the last forum - to stimulate talks, someone has to bring up interesting threads, has to push the scenery a bit, and the Forum works. Should be my part, I fear, as the GWG is more or less my baby, but at the moment, time is a limiting factor for me, but I will try to be more active the next time, and we will see what will happen:-)

However: also questions from new beginners about how to keep Goodeids are a way to freshen the talks:-)

I wish you my best, Mike
